Georgia DeClue (Helms)
Georgia V. DeClue of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, October 17, 1921 in Leadwood, Missouri. A daughter of Della Mae (Sweeney) Helms and William Helms. Georgia departed this life on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her residence in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-five years, eight months and fourteen days.
She was united in marriage to Harry DeClue on Monday, April 10, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She is survived by her daughter, Aona DeClue of Potosi, Missouri; one sister, Alice Jinkerson of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Henry Helms of Hillsboro, Missouri; three grandchildren, Melissa and husband, Michael Cordia of Potosi, Missouri; Beth Ann Goff of Steelville, Missouri; Dawn Marie and husband, Wayne Davis of Farmington, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Dillon and wife, Kaleigh Cordia of Potosi, Missouri; Abi Cordia of St. Louis, Missouri; Amanda Gillam-Parker of Farmington, Missouri; Ashley and husband, Tim Battreal of Potosi, Missouri; Sofia Davis of Farmington, Missouri; Gary Davis of Farmington, Missouri; several great-great-grandchildren; also surviving are other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Helms and Della Mae Helms; husband, Harry E. DeClue; daughter, Palla Parker; granddaughter, Della Boyster; sister, Wanda Gillam; brothers, Irvin Helms; Jim Helms; sisters-in-law, Billy Helms; Frances Helms; Juanita Helms; brothers-in-law, Skip Jinkerson; Wayne Gillam.
Georgia was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church. She was a founding member of the Washington County Saddle Club. Georgia loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits. Georgia was a very kind hearted, loving woman who will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 8:30 AM until 9:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church in Potosi, Missouri with Father Richard Tillman officiating.
Final prayers and burial were in the Calvary Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Mike Cordia Jr., Dillon Cordia, Buddy Benge, Roger Lukehart, Guy Morgan, Cory Connell, Paul Bone and Charlie Gillam.
Services were entrusted under the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO 63664.
