Obituary for Donald Ferrell

Donald Ferrell
Donald Leon Ferrell was born on September 8, 1937 in Leadwood, Missouri to the late, Zellie and Evelyn Ferrell. Donald departed this life on July 13, 2017 having reached the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and five days. He served his country in the United States Airforce and had a successful career at McDonald Douglas. He enjoyed spending time with his family and getting them outdoors to share and teach them about nature, the joys of fishing, hunting and identifying edible foods in the wild. He was a stranger to no one and will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one great granddaughter, Lisa Ann and one brother, Charles Lee Ferrell. He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Dugdale) Ferrell of Park Hills, Missouri; his children, Sonja and husband, Bob Ecton of Barnhart, Missouri; Karen Ferrell of Leadington, Missouri; Rita Stegall of Park Hills, Missouri; Regina Fontana of Bismarck, Missouri; Ross Fontana and wife, Charlene of Park Hills, Missouri; Pete Fontana of Bismarck, Missouri; grandchildren: Christopher and wife, Ashlie Ecton, Crystal and husband, Dustin Lucas, Brandon and wife, Kayla Mahurin, Heather Byersdoffer, Cheri Byersdoffer, Adam Stegall, Monica Stegall, Josh Jennings, Jed Jennings, Jodi Davis, Harley Minks, Shelly Groves; many great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lester “Sonny” and wife, Marilyn of DeSoto, Missouri; Roger and wife, Gerry Ferrell of St. Louis, Missouri; David Ferrell of Irondale, Missouri; along with many friends and family.

Memorial Gathering was held at Moore Funeral Home in Irondale Missouri on July 22, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Memorial Service following with Reverend Bruce Torrence officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to cancer research, mental health and or suicide prevention be made.

Moore Funeral Homes was honored to have been selected to serve Donald, his family and friends.
