Louis James DeClue of Potosi, Missouri was born on June 4, 1928 in Potosi, Missouri and departed this life on August 4, 2017 having reached the age of eighty-nine years and two months.
Louis is survived by his longtime companion, Louise Valley of Potosi, Missouri; four daughters, Elaina Barrett and husband, Dennis of Fredericktown, Missouri; Modessa Kennon and husband, Gil of Farmington, Missouri; Karen Nething and friend, Mark Pashia of Richwoods, Missouri; Dana Valley and fiancé, Jeff Vander Kooi of St. Louis, Missouri; four sons, Larry DeClue and wife, Debra of Potosi, Missouri; Jerry DeClue and wife, Pam of Potosi, Missouri; Robert Dale DeClue and wife, Lynn of Columbia, Missouri; James Valley of Potosi, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Yarbrough of Potosi, Missouri; five brothers, Paul DeClue of Cadet, Missouri; Michael DeClue and wife, Elke of St. Louis, Missouri; Don DeClue and wife, Debbie of Belgrade, Missouri; Ronnie DeClue and wife, Bonnie of Potosi, Missouri; Patrick DeClue and wife, Jill of Potosi, Missouri; stepdaughter, Karen Strange and husband, Robert of Potosi, Missouri; stepson, Aaron Valley of Salt Lake City, Utah; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren; also surviving are other relatives and friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Eva (Bays) DeClue and Michael DeClue; wife, Naomi (Hill) DeClue; two sons, Louis DeClue and Rick DeClue.
Louis worked doing home construction and carpentry work for years. He enjoyed woodworking building beautiful furniture. Spending time outdoors, fishing and working in his garden gave him great joy. Louis also enjoyed watching cooking shows and spending time with family. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Rodger Fleming officiating.
Final prayers and burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Garden Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Larry DeClue, Tommy John DeClue, Jerry DeClue, Jarrod DeClue, Robert Dale DeClue, Brandon DeClue, Jamie Valley and Shawn Kaye.
