HAROLD COURTOIS OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, WAS BORN JUNE 17, 1932, IN OLD MINES, MISSOURI, A SON OF THE LATE JOSEPH ANTHONY “J.A./BOSS” AND MARY NEALIA (DEAN) COURTOIS. HAROLD DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HIS RESIDENCE ON OCTOBER 26, 2017, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF 85 YEARS, 4 MONTHS AND 9 DAYS.
HAROLD WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO HIS LOVING WIFE, PATSY LOU (WILLIAMS) COURTOIS ON FEBRUARY 9, 1952, IN OLD MINES, MISSOURI.
HAROLD IS SURVIVED BY HIS DEVOTED WIFE, PATSY COURTOIS, OF MINERAL POINT, ONE DAUGHTER, NANCY DAVIS AND HUSBAND RANDY OF MINERAL POINT, TWO SONS, JOHN COURTOIS AND WIFE DEE OF ST. LOUIS, TONY COURTOIS AND WIFE JULIE OF MINERAL POINT, TWELVE GRANDCHILDREN, BRANDON COURTOIS AND WIFE JANELLE, CHRISTOPHER COURTOIS AND WIFE DENISE, KARI MUELLER AND HUSBAND DANNY, MELANIE DAVIS, DR. ALICIA BORAWSKI AND HUSBAND JOE, BRITTANY LITTON AND HUSBAND SCOTT, ALEX HALOFTIS AND HUSBAND TODD, ADRIENNE COURTOIS, COURTNEY HENSON AND HUSBAND DR. MICHAEL, JOSHUA COURTOIS, JONATHAN COURTOIS, NEALIA COURTOIS, NINETEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, SPECIAL FRIENDS, JACK AND MYRA SHIPP AND RON PAUL, AND BY MANY OTHER DEAR AND SPECIAL RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY FIVE SISTERS, STELLA BOEHM, LOUISE BONE, LUCILLE EVANS, ROBERTA COOPER AND ALBERTA MAXWELL, THREE BROTHERS, JACK COURTOIS, GEORGE COURTOIS AND BERNARD COURTOIS
HAROLD SPENT HIS LIFE SERVING AND HELPING THE PUBLIC. HE AND HIS WIFE OWNED AND OPERATED COURTOIS MARKET IN MINERAL POINT AND A CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS. HAROLD HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR QUARTER HORSES AND SPENT HIS LIFE TRAINING AND SHOWING THOSE HORSES. HAROLD WAS A PASSED PRESIDENT AND MEMBER OF THE WASHINGTOIN COUNTY SADDLE CLUB AND A MEMBER OF THE MISSOURI WESTERN HORSE SHOW ASSOCIATION. HAROLD ENJOYED WORKING THE FARM AND KEEPING IT IN PRESTINE CONDITION. HE WAS ALWAYS READY FOR A GOOD CARD GAME OR TO RELAX LISTENING TO MUSIC OR PLAYING THE PIANO. DURING HIS YOUNGER YEARS HE ENJOYED PLAYING BASEBALL AND LATER WAS AN AVID CARDINALS FAN.

VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2017 FROM 2:00 PM TO 8:00 PM AND MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2017 FROM 8:30 AM TO 9:40 AM AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI. THE FAMILY WAS GREETED AND HONORED BY SO MANY PEOPLE COMING TO OFFER THEIR LOVE AND SUPPORT.
THE FUNERAL MASS WAS CELEBRATED ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2017 AT 10:00 AM AT THE ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH IN POTOSI. THE MASS WAS CELEBRATED BY FATHER RODGER FLEMING. MUSIC WAS PROVIDED BY ANITA GOVERO.
FINAL PRAYERS, BLESSINGS AND BURIAL WAS IN THE CALVARY CEMETERY, POTOSI. HONORING THE MEMORY OF HAROD AND SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE JACK SHIPP, CHRISTOPHER COURTOIS, JONATHAN COURTOIS, BRANDON COURTOIS, JOSHUA COURTOIS, SCOTT LITTON, DANNY MUELLER AND DR. MICHAEL HENSON.
FOLLOWING THE SERVICES THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS GATHERED AT THE ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH HALL FOR A LUNCHEON AND FURTHER FELLOWSHIP WHICH INCLUDED THE SHARING OF MANY GREAT LOVING MEMORIES.
