Bert Curtis Brinley of Belgrade, Missouri was born July 26, 1932 in Ware, Missouri a son of the late Yetta (Breckenridge) Brinley and Bert Mathias Brinley. Bert departed this life at the Iron County Hospital on November 2, 2017 at the age of Eighty-five years, three months and seven days.
Bert was preceded by his wives, Evelyn Elizabeth (Younker) Brinley and Doris Irene (Recar) Brinley.
Bert is survived by his daughter, Abby Jill Friese and her husband Curt of Belgrade, son, Cody Brinley and his wife Lila; four grandchildren, Andrew (Kierstin), Amy, Riley and Evelyn; one great granddaughter Addalynn and by many other dear and special relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wives, Bert was also preceded in death by two daughters, Amy Lea Brinley and an infant daughter; four sisters, Hazel Lidholm, Mabel Sparks, Ida Crull, and Dorothy Smith; four brothers, Chester Brinley, Lester Brinley, Elbert Brinley and Russell Brinley.
Bert loved his community and had served as a Washington County Commissioner for twelve years and drove a school bus for the Valley School Dist. He enjoyed the many gifts of Mother Nature, he enjoyed hunting especially coon and fox hunting. Bert was always ready to take time and go fishing. He would relax by listening to good ole blue grass music. One of his greatest loves was the farm, he was very proud of his labors on the farm while working the ground with his family. Bert was very proud of his tractors and he was always ready to take a break and have a Pepsi.
Bert had a great love for his family, always happy with a visit and the time all took to stop and share a story. Bert was a kind and loving man with a great heart and a kind word. He will be sadly missed by all.
Visitation was held Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi.
The Funeral Service was held Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home with Brother Leonard Compton officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial was in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. Military Funeral Honors were presented by the Missouri Military Honors team and the Washington County VFW Post #6996. Honoring the memory of Bert and serving as Pallbearers were Eddie Brinley, Donnie Laramore, Andrew Friese, Zach Sadler, Dean Brinley, Bill Gau, Riley Haddock and Doug Glaser.
