Alfred “Al” P. Acerra of Potosi, MO, was born June 2, 1957 in Queens, NY, a son of the late Anthony Acerra and the late Christina Migliore. Al departed this life on March 9, 2018 having reached the age of sixty years, nine months and seven days.
Al is survived by one sister, Jessica Guidone of New York and by many friends. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by one sister, Camilla Acerra and one brother, Anthony Acerra.
Al entered into the United States Marine Corps on January 12, 1976. After four years of service Al was honorably discharged on January 11, 1980. Among his time in the service, Al received the Rifle Marksman Badge and the Letter of Appreciation.
Al served as a New York City Police Officer for many years. He was an outgoing man who loved adventure. He loved riding his motorcycle and visiting with his many friends. He moved from New York to the Potosi area to make his home the last ten years. He came here and loved the area and his many friends at Boyer Lumber and the St. James Catholic Church. Al was always ready to help, enjoy a visit or to share an exciting story.
