Drennen, Marvin Jackson, Sr.

Marvin Jackson Drennen, Sr.

Marvin Jackson Drennen, Sr. was born in Mineral Point, Missouri on Saturday, December 31, 1932, the son of the late Estelle (Cain) Drennen and Floyd Jackson Drennen. Marvin departed this life on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy-three years, six months and twenty-six days.

Marvin was united in marriage to Alma Jean Skaggs on May 3, 1964 in Mineral Point, Missouri.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Drennen of Mineral Point, Missouri; six daughters, Crystal Tipton of Hillsboro, Missouri, Cindy Miller and husband Larry of Mineral Point, Missouri, Heather DeClue of Mineral Point, Missouri, Jeannie Loehr and husband Mike of St. Louis, Missouri, Lily Blevins of Illinois, June Votaw and husband Sam of Texas; six sons, Marty Drennen and wife Kathy of Mineral Point, Missouri, Virgil Drennen and wife Jeannie of Cadet, Missouri, Robert Drennen and wife Jane of Cadet, Missouri, Marvin Drennen, Jr. and wife Angela of Cadet, Missouri, Ralph Drennen of Bourbon, Missouri, Ronald Drennen of Bonne Terre, Missouri; Four sisters, Ruthie Williamson and husband Sonny of Mineral Point, Missouri, Peggy Brand of Potosi, Missouri, Phyllis Scott and husband Marvin of Bismarck, Missouri, Bobbi Tynes and husband Tony of Vichy, Missouri; three brothers, Lee Drennen and wife Nancy of Cadet, Missouri, Lennus Drennen and wife Debby of Cadet, Missouri, Terry Drennen and Sharon Williams of Cadet, Missouri; thirty-six grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Drennen, three sisters, Nadine Rae, Bonnie Drennen, Marlene Wilkerson; two brothers, Wayne Drennen, Infant brother, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Marvin loved to go fishing and create woodworking projects. When he would be watching television, there was almost always a old western movie on. Marvin also enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, July 28, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, July 29, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jim Cartee officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Marty Drennen, Marvin Drennen, Jr., Robert Drennen, Virgil Drennen, Ralph Drennen and Jerry Rea.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
