Albert “Al” Elza Morgan

Albert “Al” Morgan of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, May 1, 1926 in Potosi, Missouri a son of the late, Bessie May (Sansegraw) Morgan and Fred Franklin Morgan. Al departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of eighty-three years, three months and five days.
Al was united in marriage to March 8, 1991 in Potosi, Missouri to Nadine Pinson.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Nadine Morgan of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Suzanne Marie Recar of Leadwood, Missouri; one son, Jerry Wayne Morgan and fiancé, Sandy of Park Hills, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Kathy Frank and husband, Jerry of Terre Du Lac, Missouri, Peggy Shumate and husband, Frank of Eureka, Missouri; one stepson, Kevin Pinson and wife, Jeanne of Park Hills, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Trisha Edwards of Park Hills, Missouri. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary E. Cresswell, Ann Farrow-Smith, Myrtle McBride, two stepsons, Rodney Pinson, Vincent Pinson.
Al served in the United States Army enlisting on September 20, 1944. While serving during World War II, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon with Bronze Battle Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Battle Star, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan and was honorably discharged on November 3, 1946.
Al enjoyed the outdoors going hunting, fishing and working in his garden. He loved spending time with his family and friends chatting and joking. Al also loved going to the quarry visiting and settling world problems.
Visitation was held Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Memory Service conducted by Brother Carl Wilson. Visitation was also held Monday, August 10, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Joe Welschmeyer officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Perry Farrow, Jeremy Morgan, Josh Morgan, Trever Morgan, Dustin Lands, Travis Lands and Cole Lands.
Final Prayers and Burial took place on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Where Al received full military honors consisting of a firing party, taps, flag folding and presentation.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
