Elgin Ashbaugh of Irondale, Missouri was born on Thursday, February 13, 1936 in Irondale, Missouri a son of the late, Mabel Clara (Allen) Ashbaugh and Clarence Blain Ashbaugh.  Elgin departed this life on Monday, April 12, 2010 having reached the age of seventy-four years, one month and thirty days.

Elgin is survived by one daughter, Deborah Sutton and husband, Dennis of St. Louis, Missouri; one son, Jeffery Ashbaugh and wife, Paula of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Ashbaugh; brother-in-law, Gerald Barron; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, Elgin was preceded in death by one grandchild, six sisters, three brothers, and former wife, Frances Ashbaugh.

Elgin or Glen as he was also known, served in the United States Army.  After his military service, he worked for Lever Brothers Manufacturing for more than three decades before retirement.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Bill Apple officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Hopewell Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
