Jack Smith of Potosi, Missouri was born on July 15, 1937 a son of the late, Elizabeth (Price) Smith and Clifford Cecil Smith.  Jack departed this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-three years and thirteen days.

Jack was united in marriage to Derhonda Owens on October 5, 1979 in St. Charles, Missouri.

Jack is survived by his wife, Derhonda Smith of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Kimberly Whitney and husband, Gary of Eureka, Missouri, Elizabeth McClain and husband, Michael of Caledonia, Missouri, Erica Smith and Scott Blair of Potosi, Missouri; one son, Kevin Smith of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Anna Mae Bourland of Centralia, Illinois; one brother, Robert Smith of Geary Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Alexis, Jack, Landon and Mya; special niece, Hannah McClain of Oakville, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Hazel Barth of Potosi, Missouri, Juanita and Junior Barber of Potosi, Missouri, Darlene Gallaher of Potosi, Missouri, Karen and Glen Lawson of Potosi, Missouri; brother-in-law, Sam Owens of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Smith.

Jack served in the United States Army, Enlisting on May 9, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri; he received his SP4 (E-4) on September 14, 1959. Jack was stationed in Oakland, California serving as a Supply Specialist. On May 9, 1957 he was transferred to the United States Army Reserve to continue his service. Jack received a Honorable Discharge on May 8, 1963. During his time with the Army he received the Sharpshooter Carbine and the Good Conduct Medal.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and visiting with his many friends.  He loved Mother Natures many gifts and spending time outdoors, camping and fishing.  Jack also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, History channel and nature shows.

Visitation was held Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Bill Brammer officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
