Rushing, Gerald

Gerald Wayne Rushing of Ironton, Missouri was born on Saturday, August 23, 1941 in Ripley, Tennessee a son of the late, Mary Emma (Craig) Rushing and Henry Franklin Rushing.  Gerald departed this life on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at his residence having reached the age of seventy-years, three months and twenty-nine days.

Gerald was united in marriage to Brenda J. Berry on July 16, 1968 in Alton, Illinois.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Rushing of Ironton, Missouri; four daughters, Mary Grajeda Rushing of Idaho, Lisa Rushing of Rosewood Heights, Illinois, Shelly Rushing of Ironton, Missouri, Kelly Rushing of St. Charles, Missouri; four stepdaughters, Beverly Booker of Alton, Illinois, Gwen Harris of California, Audrey Richardson of Bethalto, Illinois, Joan Dunstan of Boise, Idaho; three sons, Henry Edward Rushing of Potosi, Missouri, William Rushing and wife, Lori of Cottage Hill, Illinois, Donald Rushing and wife, Tammy of Roxanna, Illinois; two stepsons, Richard Harris and wife, Mary of Charleston, Illinois, Gerald Harris and wife, Mary of Alton, Illinois; one brother, Fred Rushing and wife, Jewel of Tennessee; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; life long friend, Carl Kessler of East Alton, Illinois; also surviving are other relatives and friends.

Gerald attended the Ironton Pentecostal Church of God.  He enjoyed working on older cars and watching the news on television.  Gerald will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, December 26, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Harvey Buckley officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Palmer Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Edward Wade, Joseph Rushing, Jacob Wyatt, Craig Flanagan, Quientian Wade and Myles Richardson.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.
