Leo Sylvester “Sedrick” Boyer
Leo “Sedrick” Boyer of Cadet, Missouri was born Monday, July 2, 1928 in Bliss, Missouri a son of the late Susie Julie (DeClue) Boyer and Raymond Mick Boyer. Sedrick was Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at his home surrounded by his dear and loving family. Sedrick was Seventy-five Years and Eight Months of age.
Sedrick was united in marriage on April 8, 1967 to Jackie Marie Wilson and they were blessed to have a great and loving family together.
Sedrick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of Thirty-seven years Jackie Marie Boyer of Potosi, Missouri; Two daughters, Alice M. Boyer of Potosi, Missouri and Edna I. Boyer of Cadet, Missouri; One son, Leo D. Boyer of Farmington, Missouri; Two stepsons, Del A. Pratt and wife Jeannie of Cadet, Missouri and Mike Pratt and wife Vickie of St. Louis, Missouri; One sister, Edna Merseal of Blackwell, Missouri; One half sister, Virginia Hart and husband Nova of Hillsboro, Missouri; One brother, Vincent Boyer and wife Dorothy of Richwoods, Missouri; Two half brothers, Tom Boyer and wife Sue of Hillsboro, Missouri and Mike Boyer and wife Shelia of Hillsboro, Missouri; Five grandchildren, Heather Pratt of Cadet, Missouri, April Guenther of Potosi, Missouri, Katie Boyer of Cadet, Missouri, Sami Jo Pratt of Cadet, Missouri and Nichole Pratt of Irondale, Missouri; Three foster sisters, Shirley Boyer of DeSoto, Missouri, Nancy Richardson of Cadet, Missouri and Marylee Davis of DeSoto, Missouri; Three foster brothers, Steve Sansoucie of Old Mines, Missouri, Kenny Sansoucie of Old Mines, Missouri and Larry Sansoucie of DeSoto, Missouri; One sister-in-law Vivian Boyer of St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to his parents, Sedrick was also preceded in death by Two brothers, Noah Boyer and an infant brother; Two grandchildren, Timothy Michael Pratt and Michael James Pratt and his Foster Parents Nick and Cecelia Sansoucie.
Sedrick served this great country in the United States Army from December 12, 1950 to October 3, 1952.
Sedrick was a long time member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri.
Sedrick was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. To know him was to love him, he loved to hunt, fish, trap, dig roots and going to auctions. He had a very special bond with his family. They formed a circle that could only be broken by death.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 4, 2004 from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, March 5, 2004 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri. Prayer services were held at the Moore Memorial Chapel Thursday, March 4, 2004 at 7:00 PM led by the Rural Parish Workers Christ the King.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, March 5, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper celebrating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Catholic Church Choir.
Final prayers and burial was in the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Donald Merseal, Richard Merseal, John Boyer, Elmer Boyer, Larry Boyer, Mike Pratt and Del A. Pratt. Honorary Pallbearers were Katie Boyer, Wendy Dunn, Sami Jo Pratt and Stephine Portell.
Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO.
