Donald “Sonny” Joseph Boyer
Donald “Sonny” Boyer of Cadet, Missouri was born on February 23, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of the late Lennis Joseph Boyer and Minnie Hanora (Torrence) Boyer. Sonny departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2005 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of sixty years, five months, and two days.
Donald Joseph was united in marriage to Mary Etta Coleman at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines, Missouri on May 8, 1965 and to this union three children were born. Sonny is survived by one daughter; Cynthia Marie Boyer and dear friend Les Wills of Desloge, Missouri, two sons; Randall Joseph Boyer and wife Tammy of Gravette, Arkansas, Jeff Boyer and wife Maria of Old Mines, Missouri, three sisters; Juanita Portell of DeSoto, Missouri, Joan Karsch of Old Mines, Missouri, Peggy Williams of Herculaneum, Missouri, three grandchildren, dear and special friend Joyce Campbell of Old Mines, Missouri, and her three dear and special children; Sieglinde Miller, Bahry Don Campbell, and Frank E. Campbell. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister; Mary Rose Boyer.
Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Old Mines, Missouri where he was the past Grand Knight. Sonny loved playing card games, especially euchre, taking camping trips, and going floating. He enjoyed woodworking and making crafts including bird houses. Sonny loved being in the outdoors taking care of his flower garden and admiring Mother Nature. Sonny was a very kind and loving person who will be missed by his many friends and family.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 26, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Monsingor James Hanson officiating.
Burial took place at the St. Joachim Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction to the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
