Dorothy Marjorie  Davis (Byers)
Dorothy Marjorie Davis of Pevely, Missouri was born on December 15, 1939 in Frankclay, Missouri a daughter of the late, Marjorie (Horton) Byers and the late, Paul Byers. Dorothy departed this life on May 21, 2017 at the Festus Manor in Festus, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-seven years, five months and six days.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Davis on February 3, 1962 in Frankclay, Missouri and this union was blessed with five children.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Don Davis of Pevely, Missouri; two daughters, Julie Sandlin of Afton, Missouri; Angela Davis of Festus, Missouri; three sons, Steve Davis and wife, Pam of Dittmer, Missouri; Mark Davis and wife, Carla of Hillsboro, Missouri; Scott Davis and wife, Michelle of Hillsboro, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Gilbert of Leadwood, Missouri; Joan Byers of Leadwood, Missouri; six grandchildren: Daniel Sandlin, Tanner Kozel, Zachary Davis, Kayla Davis, Nicholas Davis, Sophia Davis; five great grandchildren: Jerzey Garber, Andrew Sandlin, Brysen Davis, Isaac Davis, Cambria Harris; also surviving are other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Byers; father, Paul Byers; stepmother, Helen Byers; one sister, Linda Hagert; one brother, Donald Byers and one grandson, Matthew Davis.

Dorothy enjoyed traveling and working in her garden, especially flower gardening. She also enjoyed going fishing and doing puzzles. Dorothy’s greatest love was her family and spending time with them as much as possible.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Mike Jarvis officiating.

Final prayers and burial took place in the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Steve Davis, Mark Davis, Scott Davis, Bob Fraley, Daniel Sandlin and Zachary Davis.

Moore Funeral Homes was honored to have been selected to serve Dorothy, her family and friends.
