Ralph Glenwood Maxwell

Ralph Glenwood Maxwell of Potosi, Missouri was born February 5, 1925 in Potosi, Missouri a son to the late Murphy Maxwell and Latty (Hayes) Maxwell. Ralph departed this life Wednesday, October 14, 2020 having reached the age of 95 years, 8 months and 9 days.
Ralph was united in marriage to the late Margaret (Polhemus) Maxwell and together they were blessed with over sixty years and many wonderful memories together.
Ralph is survived by a special daughter, Carisa Skiles and husband Mike of Mineral Point, Missouri; sisters – in- law, Virginia Bader, Mary Sengheiser; nieces and nephews: Butch (Thelma) Maxwell, Kenny (Terry) Maxwell, Sam (Marsha) Maxwell, Karen (Carl) Gardner, Sharon Arndt, Mary Lee (Dave) Zielinski, Marsha (Ron) Lowe, Dennis Barton, Sandy (Pat) Gallagher, Eric (Tammy) Sengheiser, Kristina (Scott) Pluff, Elizabeth (Cyrus) Zenhari, Johanna Sengheiser and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Maxwell.
Ralph was a dear friend to all, who was always taking care of others. He was a dedicated member of the VFW Post #6996, Cordie-Humphry American Legion Post #265 and proud Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. During his service, he earned the rank of Seaman First Class while in training at the Great Lakes. He worked as a small boat gunner and mechanic. Later, he was stationed in New Guinea, South Pacific, Philippines, U.S.S Daystar from California to New Guinea. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Medal, WW2 Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Medal, Over seas Medal, American Service Medal, thirty days at Sea Medal and Ruptured Duck Pin. His patriotism shined bright throughout his life. His love, kindness and patriotism will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
