William Willhauck

William J. Willhauck of Potosi, Missouri was born March 24, 1935 in St. Louis a son to the late Joseph Franklin Willhauck and Toy (Sanders) Wuest. William departed this life Saturday, May 1, 2021 having reached the age of 86 years, 1 month and 7 days.
On June 20, 1959 William was united in marriage to Doris French Willhauck and they were blessed with sixty-one years and many wonderful memories together.
William is survived by his loving wife, Doris; daughter, Lori Michelle and husband Ken Schumaker; son, Jeff Willhauck and wife Yvonne of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, LaVern Meyer of St. Louis, Missouri and JoNell McCleron of Duham, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Steffany, Jared, Michael, Ksenia and great grandson, Ryder Joseph and many other relatives and friends.
William was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1954-1956. He proudly displayed his patriotism throughout his life. The outdoors brought him serenity and he enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He had a great love for his family and loved to tell stories and research family history to share with others. He loved history particularly the Civil War. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any veterans support organization.


Private services are under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
