Larry A. Allen

Larry Allen, Sr. of Cadet, Missouri was born on Friday, March 26, 1943 in Pine Lawn, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 2011 having reached the age of sixty-eight years and twenty-eight days.

Larry is survived by mother, Bessie Mae (Dye) Allen of Hazelwood, Missouri; two sisters, Pat Patchin of Bridgeton, Missouri, Linda Roberts and husband, Dave of Hazelwood, Missouri; three sons, William A. Allen of Potosi, Missouri, John L. Allen and wife, Brandy of Potosi, Missouri, Larry A. Allen and wife, Bree A. of Potosi, Missouri; four daughters, Elizabeth Lafargue and Eric Westfall of St. Louis, Missouri, Leslie Erin Phares and husband, Bob of Potosi, Missouri, Jennefer Lynn Estes and husband, Terry, Jr. of Cadet, Missouri, Amiee Marie Allen of Cadet, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; good friends, Doyle Kirchner of Cadet, Missouri, John Renphry of Arnold, Missouri, Donald Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri, Willie Farris of Cadet, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ambrous “Willie” Allen, one daughter, Kathleen Michelle Allen and one sister, Wilma Lightfoot who was of Cedar Hill, Missouri.

Larry attended the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Old Mines, Missouri and served as a Past Grand Knight. Larry enjoyed spending time outdoors going horseback riding and fishing. He loved to do woodwork and learning about Civil War history. Larry also enjoyed the company of his sheltie dogs: Danny, Captain and Timmy. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering was held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Prayer Service was held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 12:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
