Betty Jean Alphin
Betty Jean Alphin of Potosi, Missouri was born Tuesday, June 28, 1938 in Potosi, Missouri the daughter of Gertrude Veronica (DeClue) Franklin and the late John Henry Franklin. Betty departed this life at her home surrounded by the love and care of her family and friends on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at the age of Sixty-six years, Five months and Six days.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Mull and husband Kenneth of Potosi, Missouri; her mother, Gertrude Franklin of Potosi, Missouri; brother Robert J. Franklin of Potosi, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Shirley Franklin of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Helen Franklin of Potosi, Missouri; grandson Randy Bowles of Mineral Point, Missouri, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her father, Betty was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald E. Franklin and John Ray Franklin.
Prior to Betty’s retirement she was employed at the Brown Shoe Company, Potosi, Missouri. Betty loved to spend time out working in her yard. She would relax reading books of all kinds. Betty had a great love for her dogs and enjoyed the company of them dearly. Betty loved to visit or have her family around, she always had a smile and a kind word for each.
Visitation was held Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, December 6, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held Monday, December 6, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Jarvis and Rev. Melvin Reed officiating.
Burial and Final Prayers were held Monday, December 6, 2004 at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
