Geraldine Ann Anselman, known by family and friends as “Jean”, was born November 7, 1933 in Old Mines, Missouri, a daughter to the late Mary Francis (Coleman) Thebeau and Joseph Acan Thebeau. Jean departed this life Friday, June 24, 2022 having reached the age of 88 years, 7 months and 17 days.
On April 27, 1957, Jean was united in marriage to the late George Golden in Old Mines and they shared forty one years together. George preceded Jean in death in 1996. After George’s passing, Jean was united in marriage to the late Robert Anselman and together they shared many wonderful memories together. Robert passed away in 2010.
Those left to cherish the loving memory of Jean include her daughters, Jayne Lawson and husband Lonnie of Potosi, Missouri, Belinda Farrier of Old Mines, Missouri; son, Kevin Golden and wife Brenda of Caledonia, Missouri; sister, Rita Kamper of Old Mines, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Ellen Thebeau of Potosi, Irene Thebeau of Potosi, Blanche Thebeau of Eureka, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands George and Robert, Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph, Nick, Irvin, Stanley, Charley, Leonard “Jiggs”, Raymond, Benny Thebeau; sisters, Margaret Peggy Pruitt, Theresa Sampson, Louise Missey; granddaughter, Shawna Golden and son-in-law, Scott Farrier.
Jean was a devoted member of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines having attended school there as a child for 5 years. She was a member of the St. Ann Ladies Sodality, serving as activities director for 19 years, worked for St. Michael House and volunteered at the Sayer Senior Center. She loved to read, pray the Rosary, watch Mass on T.V. and cook for her family. She loved to fry chicken, make banana split cake, cherry delight, can jelly and play Bingo with her friends and family. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Her memory will be treasured by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
