Martha Joyce Aubuchon of Cadet, Missouri was born on Wednesday, March 13, 1940 in Cadet, Missouri a daughter of the late, Mary Gertrude (Coleman) Bourbon and Howard “Red” Bourbon. Martha departed this life at her residence on Thursday, March 24, 2011 having reached the age of seventy-one years and eleven days.
Martha was united in marriage to Leon Joseph Aubuchon in Hernando, Mississippi on September 8, 1956.
Martha is survived by her husband, of fifty-four years, Leon Aubuchon of Cadet, Missouri; three daughters, Brenda Bennett and husband, Paul of Cadet, Missouri, Cheryl Courtway and husband, Robert of Cadet, Missouri, Carrie Wicker and husband, Clifton of Cadet, Missouri; one son, Kevin Aubuchon and wife, Debbie of Cadet, Missouri; four sisters, Donna Emily and husband, Raymond of Cadet, Missouri, Ruth Ratliff of Springfield, Missouri, Jean Eckhoff of Potosi, Missouri, Janice Aubuchon and husband, Allan of Cadet, Missouri; five brothers, Don Bourbon and wife, Mary of Cadet, Missouri, Kenneth Bourbon and wife, Anna Lee of Johnson City, Tennessee, Jim Bourbon and wife, Betty of DeSoto, Missouri, Frank Bourbon and wife, Karen of Potosi, Missouri, Vernon Bourbon and wife, Becky of Potosi, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Amy and Tracy Eckhoff, Misty and John Ficken, Jason Bond, Nathan Courtway and fiancé, Angie Little, Holly Courtway, Jarod Aubuchon and fiancé, Cagney Watson, Jeff and Ashley Aubuchon, Steve Merx and fiancé, Shannon Charboneau, Jeremy Wicker and fiancé, Sarah Eden, Kim Hayes; eighteen great-grandchildren, Mykayla Govero, Blake Govero, Kenny Kitchell, Layne Ficken, Kelsey Courtway, Kendra Courtway, Zachary Courtway, Alex Aubuchon, Kaitlyn Aubuchon, Gage Aubuchon, Payton Aubuchon, Emily Merx, Chelsey Charboneau, Kaylee Charboneau, Austin Wicker, Carly Jo Wicker, Brandt Roberts and Gabriel Hayes; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by one son, Garland Keith Aubuchon, two sisters, Connie Courtway, Carol Elsey, two brothers, Ron Bourbon, Howard Jeffery Bourbon, grandson, Bobby Courtway, Jr., two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Bond and Gavin Aubuchon.
Martha loved spending time with her family outdoors, going fishing, mushroom hunting and taking walks in the woods. She enjoyed playing ball with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha was a very kind and generous woman who loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, March 28, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Honoring Martha’s love and kindness, Kenny Kitchell, Jason Bond, Nathan Courtway, Jeff Aubuchon, Jarod Aubuchon and Jeremy Wicker served as Pallbearers. Following the Services, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joachim Parish family honored the Family and friends with a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus hall.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction to the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
