Betty Gladine Barbee
Betty Gladine Barbee of Bismarck, Missouri was born on Thursday, October 8, 1931 in Dearborn, Michigan. A daughter of the late, Reva (Frasier) Russell and Everett Russell. Betty departed this life on November 21, 2007 her residence having reached the age of seventy-six years, one month and thirteen days.
Betty was united in marriage to Harold Barbee on April 6, 1951 in Orlando, Mississippi and this union was blessed with two children.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Patti Hall and husband, David of Bismarck, Missouri; one son, Bob Barbee and wife, Pat of Festus, Missouri; one sister, Shirley Shipman and husband Walt and son Chuck of Jackson, Mississippi; two brothers, Henry Russell of Jackson, Mississippi, John Russell and wife Candy of Tacoma, Washington; three grandchildren, Chris Barbee and wife Jeanie of Chicago, Illinois, Kevin Barbee of Festus, Missouri and J.D. Hall of Bismarck, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Sarah Barbee of Chicago, Illinois; a very dear and special friend, Gene DeRozier of Potosi, Missouri; sister-in-law, Anna Russell of Farmington, Missouri and by many other dear and special relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Russell and two stepbrothers Stanley Russell and Danny Russell.
Betty was known by many for her vast knowledge in the cosmetology field and for her dedication to teaching in the cosmetology field for over twenty-two years. She was the owner of Barbee’s Glamour School in Ironton. She was a longtime member of the National Hairdresser Association. She enjoyed shopping, collecting antiques and dolls. She loved glitz and enjoyed her jewelry especially the diamonds.
Visitation was held Friday, November 23, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, November 24, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri.
Burial and Final Prayers were held at the Parkview Cemetery, Farmington, Missouri.
Arrangements were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
