Alan Joseph “A.J.” Barton

Alan Barton of Irondale, Missouri was born on Monday, June 17, 1963 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, and departed this life on Friday, May 19, 2006 at his residence having reached the age of forty-two years, eleven months and two days.

Alan is survived by his mother and father, Barbara Gail (Bennett) and Norman Francis Barton of Irondale, Missouri; sister, Robin Horton and husband Greg of Irondale, Missouri; two brothers, Norman Francis Barton, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Brian Bennett Barton of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; nephew, Jeremiah Dale Horton of Irondale, Missouri; niece, Whitney Gail Horton of Irondale, Missouri; two great nephews, Jacob Lee Horton and Joseph Dale Horton both of Desloge, Missouri; also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many, many friends.

Alan enjoyed counseling, helping anyone in need, and being a mentor and was a forever friend to many. He also enjoyed listening to music of all types visiting with his many friends, and was very talented with writing songs and playing his keyboard. Alan loved the Lord, his family, and especially his dog “Slim”.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Rhonda Ramsey officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Marler, Archie Boyer, Richard Lewis, Jeremiah Horton, Mark Nance and Jim Thurman.

Burial took place in the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
