Lowell Eldred Bay of Potosi, Missouri was born June 3, 1921 in Boss, Missouri a son of the late William Harrison Bay and the late Mattie (Gill) Bay. Lowell departed this life at the Potosi Manor on December 22, 2018, having reached the age of Ninety-seven years, six months and nineteen days.
Lowell was a very active businessman in the Washington County area, having owned and operated the Bay Farms at Lost Creek, Washing County Abstract Company and for a time elected to the office of Washington County Circuit Clerk. He was a dedicated member of the Potosi Masonic Lodge #131 A.F. & A.M. and enjoyed its many activities, charities and associated Lodges. He loved to take time and play the fiddle both locally and around the county. During his travels he had claimed many trophies and prizes for fiddle playing.
Lowell is survived by his daughter, Pat Johnson and her husband Dean of Caledonia, son, Terry Bay of Potosi; two grandchildren, Reverend Bryce Wilson and his wife Bridgett of Potosi, Monica McClain of Caledonia; seven great grandchildren, Bryce Wilson, Jr. and his wife Amber, Bradley Wilson and his wife Lindsey, Mathew Wilson, Madylyn Wilson, Dylan Wilson, Jacklyn McClain and Drew McClain; nine great great grandchildren and by many other dear and special relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Bay; two sisters, Verla Moberly and Betty Hogan; one great granddaughter, Breanna Wilson and one great great grandchild.
