Hilda Marie Bays of Potosi, Missouri was born on Thursday, September 8, 1938 in Old Mines, Missouri. She was a daughter of the late Bernard John Politte and Verna M. (Bequette) Politte. Hilda departed this life on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the age of sixty-eight years, one month and twenty-five days.
Hilda was united in marriage to Ronald Bays on Flag Day, June 14, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union they were blessed with two daughters.
Hilda is survived by her husband, Ronald Bays of House Springs, Missouri, two daughters, Dajah A. O’Donohue and husband Walter of DeSoto, Missouri, Renee Lynn Willer and husband Robert of St. Louis, Missouri; three sisters, Ina Mae Boyer and husband Paul of Old Mines, Missouri, Frances Ann Rundel and husband Robert of Old Mines, Missouri, Catherine Schwartz and husband Jay of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Walter Scott O’Donohue, Jr. of Festus, Missouri and Christiana Marie O’Donohue of House Springs, Missouri; one great granddaughter, April Nicole Stalinski of House Springs, Missouri. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kenny Politte and Thomas Politte and one sister, Winfred June Courtway.
Hilda attended the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. She loved shopping, singing and taking care of her dog, Maggie. Hilda was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed playing card games including poker. Hilda took great pride in staying healthy and working out at a fitness center. She loved her family and the time she had to spend with them.
A Memorial Reception was held Monday, November 6, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Memorial Mass was held on Monday, November 6, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
