Virginia Ann Benson of Dittmer, Missouri formerly of Potosi, Missouri was born on Sunday, January 25, 1925 at Belfountaine, Missouri a daughter of the late Elsie M. (Gamble) Portell and Otto A. Portell. Virginia departed this life on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the St. Anthony’s Medical Center at the age of Eighty-two years, One month and Fourteen days.
Virginia is survived by her dear and loving son, Larry Benson of Dittmer, Missouri; sister, Erma Young of Farmington, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jason Benson and Jessica Benson; five nieces, two nephews, many cousins, other relatives and dear and special friends.
Virginia had a great love for life and enjoyed her family and friends dearly. She always looked forward to the time she could spend with each of them. Virginia or better known as “Ginny” to the Bingo crowd loved to take time and go for a bingo game whenever she could. She enjoyed spending time walking, visiting and shopping at Wal Mart, if she was not at the store for a few days the ladies would call checking on her.
She always had a smile and loved sharing her warm thoughts with everyone. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation was held Monday, March 12, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jerry Compton officiating.
Burial and Final Prayers were at the Redbud Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 11:45 AM.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
