Mildred Elizabeth Benz
Mildred Elizabeth Benz of Hopewell, Missouri was born Wednesday, February 9, 1921 in Hopewell, Missouri a daughter of the late Edna M. (Carlyon) Nixon and Guy Elmer Nixon, Sr. Mildred departed this life Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of Eighty-three Years, Five Months and Nineteen Days.
Mildred is survived by Six sisters, Ruth Humphrey and husband R.C. of Mineral Point, Missouri, Margaret Sanzotera of Mineral Point, Missouri, Katherine Turnbough and husband Lindell of Mineral Point, Missouri, Myrtle Balderson and husband Andy of Evans, Georgia, Judy Portell and husband Donald of Cadet, Missouri, June Nixon of Mineral Point, Missouri; Three brothers, Clyde Nixon and wife Mary of Potosi, Missouri, Robert Nixon of Mineral Point, Missouri, Fred Nixon and wife Carol of Mineral Point, Missouri and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mildred was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Benz; Two sisters, Shelba Jean Nixon and Marian Smith; One brother, Guy Elmer Nixon, Jr.; Sister-in-law, Alma Jean Nixon; Brother-in-law Rudy Sanzotera.
Prior to her retirement, Mildred worked for the White-Rodgers Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mildred loved to spend time with her Brothers and Sisters and enjoyed going out to eat with them. Her family was very dear to her and each of them held a very special place in her heart. Mildred enjoyed bowling and watching and talking about Baseball and their Players. Her favorite teams being the St. Louis Browns and the New York Giants.
Visitation was held Thursday, July 29, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, July 30, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Guy Conway and Reverend Mark Turnbough officiating. Music was provided by Peggy Turnbough.
Final prayers and burial was at the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Fred Nixon, Jr., Ronnie Nixon, Mike Nixon, Steven Smith, Stanley Conway and John Allen Dontrich.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
