Agatha Marie Bequette
Agatha Bequette of Cadet, Missouri was born on Sunday, February 14, 1915 in Old Mines, Missouri a daughter of the late, Mary Elizabeth (Thebeau) Sansoucie and Loomis Sansoucie. Agatha departed this life on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the Villas Nursing Home, DeSoto, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-two years, eleven months and twenty-four days.
Agatha was united in marriage to Francis Roussan Bequette on June 13, 1935 in Old Mines, Missouri and this union was blessed with five children.
Agatha is survived by two daughters, Doris Ann Bequette of Cadet, Missouri, Juanita Bieser of El Monte, California; three sons, Stephen Francis Bequette of Cadet, Missouri, Donald J. Bequette of Cadet, Missouri, James Edward Bequette and wife, Patricia Diane of Potosi, Missouri; one brother, Harold Sansoucie and wife, Norma Jean of Hillsboro, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Marcella Sansoucie of Cadet, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Agatha was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Roussan Bequette, one sister, Catherine Coleman, four brothers, Edgar Sansoucie, Edward Sansoucie, James Sansoucie, Elmer Sansoucie and two great grandchildren.
Agatha was a very active member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and cooking for her family and friends. Agatha also enjoyed going to cookouts with her family members, riding through the tiff cuts collecting shiny tiff rocks, watching television especially, Mother Angelica and playing cards including, pinochle, euchre and rummy. She stayed very active by cutting her yard. Agatha never served in the military but was ready to support her son, grandsons and brothers with many prayers for their safe return home.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Agatha, knew a loving and devoted servant of God, who was always willing to offer up prayers for anyone. Her devotion to her Christian faith was ever present in her display of love toward her family, her fellow mankind and her dedication in assisting the Rural Parish Workers of Christ the King. Agatha’s spirit will continue on in the hearts of many and she will be deeply and loving missed by all of her family and many friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, February 11, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, February 11, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
Honoring Agatha by being pallbearers were: Robert Bieser, Stevie Bequette, Nick Turnbough, Tim Turnbough, Bob Sansoucie, Rick Sansoucie, Dennis Sansoucie, and Richard Bequette
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
