LEONA BEQUETTE OF CADET, MISSOURI, WAS BORN AUGUST 20, 1910, IN IRONTON, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF FRED AND ANNA (HASTEY) FISHER. LEONA DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT POTOSI MANOR NURSING HOME ON DECEMBER 28, 2000, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY YEARS, FOUR MONTHS AND EIGHT DAYS.
LEONA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO HOWARD BEQUETTE OF AUGUST 14, 1950, IN ARKANSAS.
LEONA IS SURVIVED BY ONE BROTHER-IN-LAW, BILL MALLOW OF POTOSI, ONE SISTER-IN-LAW, MRS. EARL FISHER OF BISMARCK AND BY MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS, OTHER RELATIVES AND SPECIAL FRIENDS. LEONA WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, FRED AND ANNA FISHER, HER HUSBAND, HOWARD BEQUETTE, SIX BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER, LOUISE MALLOW.
LEONA WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH, OLD MINES, MISSOURI. SHE ENJOYED THE OUTDOORS AND LOVED TO ADMIRE THE MANY WILD FLOWERS IN THE AREA. LEONA TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN HER GREEN THUMB TALENTS WITH HER OWN FLOWER GARDENS. SHE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR HER MANY ANIMALS ESPECIALLY HER CATS. ALTHOUGH LEONA HAD NO CHILDREN SHE HAD GREAT LOVE AND ADMIRATION FOR HER EXTENDED FAMILY, MANY OF THEM WERE IN HER DAILY PRAYERS.
VISITATION WAS HELD FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2000, FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2000, AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE CHAPEL WITH FATHER TED PIEPER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN ST. JOACHIM CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, KARL KOCH, JASON ADAMS, FRED N. FISHER, FRED C. FISHER AND FRANK J. FISHER.
