Claude J. Berry
Claude Berry of Potosi, Missouri was born on Wednesday, November 12, 1913 in Mill Creek, Missouri a son of the late, Mary Louise (Parson) Berry and John Thomas Berry. Claude departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-six years and two months.
Claude is survived by two daughters, Shirley Griggs and husband, Delbert of Potosi, Missouri, Margaret Ward of Joplin, Missouri; five sons, Everett Berry and wife, Charlotte of Decatur, Arkansas, Virgil Berry and wife, Cecille of Sycamore, Illinois, Raymond Berry and wife, Delores of Mineral Point, Missouri, Herman Berry of Mineral Point, Missouri, Charles Berry and wife, Dorothy of DeSoto, Missouri; one sister, Pearl Robinson of Belgrade, Missouri; twenty-four grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by one son, Oval Dean Berry and one sister, Annie Gibson one half sister, Minnie Cox.
Claude loved being outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing or just enjoying the many beauties of Mother Nature. He enjoyed telling stories to his family and friends. Claude was a kindhearted man who will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, January 18, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, January 18, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Melvin Reed officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Grassy Hollow Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Donnie Berry, Tim Berry, Andrew Berry, Jeff Gamble, David Buckley and Donald Buckley.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
