Michael Anthony Besel
Mike A. Besel of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, January 8, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. A son of the late Leonard Paul Besel and Mildred Catherine (Schultz) Besel. Mike departed this life on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at his residence having reached the age of forty-nine years, ten months and eleven days.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Denise Combest of Anniston, Missouri; one sister, Marilyn Kay DeClue and husband Donald of Cadet, Missouri; one brother, Bill Paul Besel of St. Louis, Missouri; one grandson, Courtez McGee of Anniston, Missouri; also surviving is his church family members, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Carol Ann York, Lee Joyce Nelson and one brother, John Warren Besel.
Mike loved attending the Potosi Pentecostal Church and would always willingly give to the church. He was always thankful for the loving and spiritual guidance of his first Pastors, Brother Leon and Sister Brenda Mosier. Mike also appreciated the new Pastors, Brother Charles and Sister Paula Williams. He would give monetary gifts to his friends on their birthdays. Mike enjoyed taking trips to Wal-Mart and eating at Dairy Queen. Even though Mike wasn’t around his daughter and grandson very much, he loved them with all of his heart and was always happy to share his thoughts about them. Mike was the type of man who would forget about his own problems and illness to pray for anyone in need. He loved walking their dogs: Tammy, Half Pint and Bambi. Mike also enjoyed his job at the Enhancements Center and all of the clients there. He loved his friends at work and his family very much.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 21, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, November 22, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Charles Williams officiating, assisted by Reverend Lloyd Shepard. Musical selections, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace”, “I’ll Fly Away” were performed by Sister Mona O’Neail. Honoring Mike by serving as pallbearers were: Sean Besel, Donald “Spinner” DeClue, Jimmy Rolens, Vernon “Sonny” Lemke, Dale Mosier and Charles Williams III.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
