Dorothy Mae Bingaman

Dorothy Bingaman of Potosi, Missouri was born on Thursday, December 2, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late, Viola (Parker) Hamlett and Elmer Hamlett. Dorothy departed this life at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age sixty-five years, eight months and seven days.

Dorothy was united in marriage to James William Bingaman, Sr. on June 18, 1961 in Potosi, Missouri.

Dorothy is survived by one sister, Leatha Ann Hamlett of St. Charles, Missouri; three brothers, Harold Hamlett and wife, Catherine of St. Louis, Missouri, Sammie Hamlett and wife, JoAnn of Tucson, Arizona, Freddie Hamlett of Jefferson City, Missouri; also surviving are several nieces and nephew, including Marty and Cindy Davis of Wichita Falls, Texas. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Bingaman, Sr., two infant daughters, Penny Bingaman, Angela Darlene Bingaman; two infant sons, James William Bingaman, Sr. and Timothy Michael Bingaman.

Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri. She was always available to send cards of happiness or condolence to anyone of the community on behalf of the First Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed reading the Bible and other books of interest. Watching the St. Louis Cardinals and movies were some of her favorite pastimes. Dorothy always had a loving outlook on life and will always be remembered for the love she shared.

A Graveside Service was held Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Jamie Haguewood officiating. Honoring Dorothy by serving as pallbearers were: Faron Hopping, Doyle Hopping, Randall Hoping and Marty Davis.

Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
