ELZIE BISHOP
ELZIE ELMO BISHOP OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1925 AT ANTHONIES MILL, MISSOURI A SON OF THE LATE MYRTLE (ISGRIGS) AND ISSAC BISHOP. ELZIE DIED ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2001 AT THE AGE OF SEVENTY-SIX YEARS AND THIRTEEN DAYS.
ELZIE IS SURVIVED BY TWO DAUGHTERS, SHEILA PARMLEY AND HUSBAND CHARLES OF POTOSI, SHELBA MINOR OF POTOSI; TWO SONS, RANDY BISHOP AND WIFE PENNY OF CHEYENNE, OKLAHOMA AND RICKY BISHOP OF POTOSI; TWELVE GRANDCHILDREN; ONE BROTHER, CLIFFORD BISHOP AND WIFE ALICE OF BOURBON, MISSOURI AND BY A HOST OF OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS, HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SON, ELZIE GLEN BISHOP; ONE SISTER; TWO BROTHERS, JAMES AND BUFORD BISHOP.
ELZIE HAD WORKED IN THE TIMBER INDUSTRY ALL OF HIS LIFE. HE ENJOYED WOOD WORKING AND ALWAYS TOOK TIME TO GO FISHING. HE LOVED TO SPEND TIME LISTENING TO GOSPEL MUSIC. ELZIE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND ALWAYS ENJOYED VISITING WITH THEM.
VISITATION WAS HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2001, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2001, AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE CHAPEL WITH BROTHER ARDELL GRAY OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN METCALF CEMETERY, BOURBON, MISSOURI, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, DEAN BISHOP, RICKY BISHOP, RANDY BISHOP, ANDY LINK, LEN JARVIS AND RANDELL JARVIS.
