Beatrice V. Bittle of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, June 28, 1915 in Shirley, Missouri a daughter of the late, Bessie Catherine (Huitt) and Thomas Jefferson Compton. Beatrice departed this life on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-one years, nine months and twenty-nine days.
Beatrice is survived by one son, Don Compton of Potosi, Missouri; one sister, Eunice Compton of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Luther Compton and wife Marie of Blanchard, Iowa, Harvey Compton and wife Norma of Shirley, Missouri; two grandchildren, Gregory Compton of Phoenix, Arkansas and Fallon Compton of Potosi, Missouri. In addition to her parents her husband, Howard Bittle, four sisters, Pauline Goodson, Ada Boyd Corno, Ruth Eye and Edna Ratty, two brothers, Jess Compton and Russell Compton and one grandchild, Richard Compton, preceded Beatrice in death.
During Beatrice’s younger years she enjoyed traveling all over the United States. She attended the First Baptist Church of Harvester, Harvester, Missouri. Beatrice loved visiting with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones.
Visitation was held Saturday, April 28, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, April 29 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jerry Compton officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Shirley Union Cemetery, Shirley, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
