Ervin “Blackie” Blackwell
Ervin Edward Blackwell of Irondale, Missouri passed away at Country Meadows of Park Hills, Missouri on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the age of Eighty-six Years, Six Months and Sixteen Days. Ervin was born Tuesday, July 4, 1917 in Leadwood, Missouri a son of the late Arthur Lloyd and Anna (Brunk) Blackwell. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by Seven Brothers, Emery, Arthur, Donald, Ivan, Walter, Ray and Raymond; Two Sisters, Lucille Blackwell and Louise Griffin and One Grandson Jerry Blackwell, Jr.
Ervin is survived by one son Jerry Blackwell and wife Jeannine of Caseyville, Illinois; One daughter, Melba VanHoose and Husband Lonnie of Illinois; Five Brothers, Roy Blackwell of Irondale, Missouri, Marvin Blackwell and wife Muriel of Bismarck, Missouri, Gale Blackwell and wife Shirley of Farmington, Missouri, John Blackwell of Bismarck, Missouri and Herbert Balckwell of Bismarck, Missouri; Two Sisters, Mildred Marie Reed of House Springs, Missouri and Daisy Corcoran and husband John of Park Hills, Missouri; Six Grandchildren, Eight Great-grandchildren; Special Nephew, Mike Blackwell of Irondale, Missouri and many Nieces, Nephews, Special Friends and many CB buddies.
Visitation was held Thursday, January 22, 2004 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, January 23, 2004 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held Friday, January 23, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Graham officiating. Musical Selections played were “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”, “The Other Side of Life”, “Jesus Died so You Could Live” and “Close as Always”.
Final Rites and Burial was in the Adams Cemetery, Frankclay, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Larry Griffin, John Corcoran, Herb Blackwell and Gale Blackwell.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
