JAMES HENRY BLAIR OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, FORMERLY OF BELGRADE, MISSOURI WAS BORN MARCH 29, 1919 IN QUAKER, MISSOURI A SON OF THE LATE JAMES HORACE AND VICIE (BEERS) BLAIR. JAMES DIED JANUARY 6, 1999 AT THE GEORGIAN GARDEN NURSING HOME AT THE AGE OF SEVENTY-NINE YEARS, NINE MONTHS AND NINE DAYS.
JAMES IS SURVIVED BY THREE BROTHERS, GEORGE BLAIR OF STEELVILLE, EARL BLAIR OF ARKANSAS AND CARL BLAIR OF STEELVILLE, ONE SISTER MARY RULO OF POTOSI. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS, MR. BLAIR WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY THREE BROTHERS, CHARLIE, BURKET AND JOHN BLAIR; FOUR SISTERS, MARTHA OLIVER, MINERVA MARTIN, BERTHA TURNBOUGH AND DELORES BLAIR.
PRIOR TO JAMES' RETIREMENT, HE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE RAILROAD. JAMES ENJOYED RAISING VEGETABLES IN HIS GARDEN, HE ALWAYS SHARED THE FRUITS OF HIS LABOR IN HIS GARDEN. JAMES LOVED TO SPEND TIME GOING TO FLEA MARKETS AND AUCTIONS TO BUY, SELL AND VISIT WITH HIS MANY FRIENDS.
VISITATION FOR JAMES WAS HELD FRIDAY, JANUARY 9, 1999 AT 9:30 A.M. AT THE GUM AND SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD FRIDAY, JANUARY 9, 1999 AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE GUM AND SON FUNERAL HOME WITH REVEREND MARK TURNBOUGH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE ANTIOCK CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM AND SON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., POTOSI, MISSOURI.
