Kathleen Faye Blanford of Potosi, Missouri was born on Thursday, December 30, 1920 in Undine, Missouri a daughter of the late, Susie (Isgrigg) Kimberlin and Eugene Kimberlin. Kathleen departed this life on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-one years, six months and twelve days.

Kathleen was united in marriage to Clarence Blanford on July 15, 1940 in Steelville, Missouri and was blessed with five children.

Kathleen is survived by two daughters, Carol Shields and husband, Randy of Troy, Missouri, Gayle Quinton and husband, Larry of Farmington, Missouri; three sons, Gary Blanford and wife, Judy of Potosi, Missouri, Alan Blanford and wife, DeLinda of Potosi, Missouri, Doug Blanford and wife, Missy of Potosi, Missouri; one sister, June Morrison of Ashland, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Suzette Blanford, Gary C. Blanford, Stacey Remley, Shelly Mueller, Mandy Flannigan, Jason Seiberlich, Ericka Seiberlich, Lindsay Quinton, Ryan Blanford and Cody Blanford; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Mason Blanford; sisters-in-law, Mary Blanford of St. Genevieve, Missouri and Dolly Okenfuss of St. Genevieve, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Blanford, three sisters, Gladys Kathcart, Marguerite Paul, Nova Jean Briant, two brothers, Clyde Kimberlin, Kelly Kimberlin and one grandson, Thomas Shields.

Kathleen was a parishioner of the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri. She loved to quilt and looked forward to weekly quilting sessions at the parish, year round with her friends. Kathleen was a longtime member of the Parish Ladies Sodality and volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Along with Fanny Black in 1993 Kathleen helped establish the “heavenly dusters” volunteers who clean the parish church on a weekly basis. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and working in her flower garden. She would often check on and in with her other friends in their 90’s. Her family and many friends will forever miss Kathleen.

Memorial Visitation was held Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Joe Welschmeyer officiating.

Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
