CANDIA SUZETTA BOURBON OF CADET, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI ON MARCH 17, 1958. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE HOMER AND GLADYS (WILLIAMS) COURTWAY. SHE DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE BARNES JEWISH HOSPITAL IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI ON JUNE 30, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF FORTY-FOUR YEARS, THREE MONTHS AND FOURTEEN DAYS.
CANDIA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO CARL BOURBON ON OCTOBER 25, 1975 IN POTOSI, MISSOURI. TO THIS UNION FOUR CHILDREN WERE BORN.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND CARL BOURBON OF CADET, MISSOURI , ONE DAUGHTER, ALICIA BOURBON OF CADET, MISSOURI, THREE SONS, CARL BOURBON JR. AND MICHELLE OF CADET, MISSOURI, JOSEPH "JOE" BOURBON AND WIFE JANIE OF CADET, MISSOURI AND JUSTIN BOURBON OF CADET, MISSOURI, THREE GRANDCHILDREN, ANDREA AND BRITNEY WHITLEY OF POTOSI, MISSOURI AND SHELSY BOURBON OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, TWO SISTERS, RITA MCNAIL AND HUSBAND JACK OF CENTERVILLE, MISSOURI AND BRENDA SCHAUMANN OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, FOUR BROTHERS, STANLEY COURTWAY AND WIFE LINDA OF BRANSON, MISSOURI, DAVID COURTWAY AND WIFE ROBERTA OF CADET, MISSOURI, JERRY COURTWAY AND WIFE JUDY OF PALM COAST, FLORIDA, BOBBY COURTWAY AND WIFE CHERYL OF CADET, MISSOURI AND DONALD COURTOIS AND WIFE LINDA OF ARKANSAS AND MANY OTHER NIECES, NEPHEWS, RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
CANDIA ENJOYED MANY THINGS IN LIFE. ONE OF HER JOYS INCLUDED MAKING CRAFTS. SHE LIKED SEWING AND MAKING DOLL OUTFITS. SHE ALSO LIKED READING BOOKS, ESPECIALLY A GOOD ROMANCE NOVEL. CANDIA ENJOYED WATCHING OLD MOVIES AND SOAP OPERAS. SHE LOVED TO SPREAD GOOD CHEER AND SMILES BY SHARING HER LOVE OF FLOWER GARDENING AND DOING FLORAL DECORATING AT HER HOME AND OTHERS. CANDIA WAS A DEDICATED EMPLOYEE FOR CASEY'S GENERAL STORES, POTOSI, NOT ONLY WHERE SHE HAD FRIENDSHIP WITH CO-WORKERS BUT ALSO WITH CUSTOMERS WHO CAME IN TO VISIT. SHE WILL BE SADLY MISSED BY MANY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
VISITATION WAS HELD TUESDAY, JULY 2, 2002 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 2002 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 2002 AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH DEACON STEVE POLITTE OFFICIATING. MUSICAL SELECTIONS PLAYED WERE WIND BENETH MY WINGS AND MY WOMAN, MY WOMAN, MY WIFE. BURIAL WAS IN THE RED BUD MEMORIAL GARDENS, POTOSI, MISSOURI UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE JOEY BOURBON, CARL BOURBON, JR., JUSTIN BOURBON, DARRYL DAHLEY, MIKE DAHLEY AND NATHAN COURTWAY. SERVING AS HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE LARRY BOURBON, BRIAN BOURBON, SHANE JONES, TODD COURTWAY, DAVID COURTWAY, JR. AND KIRK CHARBONEAU.
