Ronald Eddie Bourbon, Sr.

Ronald E. Bourbon, Sr. of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, January 13, 1948 in Cadet, Missouri a son of the late, Gertrude Mary (Coleman) Bourbon and Howard “Red” Bourbon. Ronald departed this life on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Crystal City, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-nine years, eight months and five days.

Ronald was united in marriage to Margaret “Peggy” Missey on November 26, 1966 in Old Mines, Missouri and this union was blessed with five children.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Bourbon of Cadet, Missouri; two sons, Ron Bourbon, Jr. and wife, Loretta of Sullivan, Missouri, Daniel Bourbon of Eureka, Missouri; three daughters, Kelly Bequette and husband, Brian of Blackwell, Missouri, Holly Bourbon and boyfriend, Jason Thompson of Cadet, Missouri, Amanda Bourbon and fiancé, Josh DeClue of Cadet, Missouri; five brothers, Kenneth Bourbon and wife, Anna Lee of Gray, Tennessee, Jimmy Bourbon and wife, Betty of DeSoto, Missouri, Donald Bourbon and wife, Mary of Cadet, Missouri, Frank Bourbon and wife, Karen of Potosi, Missouri, Vernon Bourbon and wife, Becky of Potosi, Missouri; five sisters, Jean Eckhoff of Potosi, Missouri, Martha Aubuchon and husband, Leon of Cadet, Missouri, Ruth Ratliff of Springfield, Missouri, Donna Emily and husband, Raymond of Cadet, Missouri, Nan Aubuchon and husband, Alan of Cadet, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, Sarah and Chad Gibson, Krystin, Lauren, Damion, Codey, Terry, Dalton, Ethan, Hayden, Jade, Kaylee, Jalen, Cassie, Alyssa and Rylan; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Ronald was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Bourbon, two sisters, Carol Elsey and Connie Courtway.

Ronald loved family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren playing and wrestling in the floor. He enjoyed all kinds of desserts, especially cake. Ronald had a great sense of humor and was always ready with an outrageous story for his grandkids. Ronald also enjoyed playing horseshoes and cards, especially rummy and was an avid lottery player. He loved listening to George Jones and Conway Twitty and watching adventure movies. Ronald loved his family and the time he spent with them and will be greatly missed by his many loved ones.

Visitation was held Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday, September 21, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Friday, September 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Brian Bequette, Chad Gibson, Josh DeClue, Petey Elsey, John Elsey and Tracy Courtway.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
