Joseph T. Bourisaw

July 26, 1925 — November 9, 2006

Joseph Theodore Bourisaw of Old Mines, Missouri was born on Sunday July 26, 1925 in Old Prairie, Missouri a son of the late Mary Louise (Boyer) Bourisaw and Chester Bourisaw. Joseph was Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at his home at the age of Eighty-one Years, Three Months and Fourteen Days.

Joseph was united in Holy Matrimony to Mildred Opal Battreal on November 12, 1947 at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri.

Joseph is survived by his loving and devoted wife of Fifty-eight Years Mildred Bourisaw of Cadet, Missouri, Seven daughters, Mary Lou Hochstatter of Potosi, Missouri, Patsy Johnson and husband Larry of Potosi, Missouri, Rita Johnston of Potosi, Missouri, Shelba Pashea and husband Ronnie of Potosi, Missouri, Katherine Pashea and husband Ronnie of Cadet, Missouri, Sharon Duncan and husband Bill of Cadet, Missouri, Glenda Whitten and husband Garry of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Three sons, Paul Bourisaw and wife Wilma of Potosi, Missouri, Dennis Bourisaw of Cadet, Missouri, Morgan Bourisaw and Fiancé Debbie Damback of Doe Run, Missouri, One daughter-in-law, Cindy Bourisaw of Louisville, Kentucky, Five sisters, Mary Ann Rice and husband Charlie of Potosi, Missouri, Norma Bequette of Festus, Missouri, Verna Pratt and husband Sylvester “Pil”of Festus, Missouri, Rita Johnson and husband Earl of DeSoto, Missouri, Judy Carter and husband Ray of St. Louis, Missouri, One brother, Frankie Bourisaw and wife Margie of Festus, Missouri, Twenty-six grandchildren, Forty great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by one son, Roy Bourisaw.

Joseph was a lifelong member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church and was very dedicated to the Church and all of its activities.

Joseph loved gardening and he was always sharing his garden with his many friends. He loved to spend time fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He enjoyed sitting in the yard. Joseph loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was always ready to share a story or tell an almost believable joke. He had a great love for his family and cherished each and everyone one of them.

Visitation was held Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, November 13, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper celebrating. Music was provided by the Church Choir.

Final Prayers and Burial was in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Paul Bourisaw, Morgan Bourisaw, David Bourisaw, Jerry Pashea, Bill Duncan and Justin Duncan. Following all services a luncheon was provided by the St. Joachim Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
