Edyth Pearl Bouse

Edyth Bouse of Cadet, Missouri was born on June 1, 1916 in Redmondville, Missouri the daughter of the late, John Marshall Bell and Hillarey “Hillie” (Miller) Bell. Edyth departed this life on June 21, 2008 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Center, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-two years and twenty days.

Edyth was united in marriage to Jesse Berlin Mayfield, Sr. on March 11, 1932 and this union was blessed with one son and one daughter. After Jesse passed away on December 9, 1935 she then married Arthur Gordon Bouse on December 19, 1939. They enjoyed more than fifty-four years of marriage and three daughters were born before his death on March 26, 1994.

Edyth is survived by three daughters, Betty June Huskey and husband, Paul of Hazelwood, Missouri, Carol Sue Warren of Cadet, Debra Coleman and husband, Terry of St. Clair, Missouri; one step-daughter, Lucille Johnson and husband, Ron of Houston, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Joan Mayfield of Viburnum, Missouri; two brothers, Ralph Bell and wife, Marie of Black, Missouri, Carl Bell and wife, Imogene of Farmington, Missouri; one sister, Mary Mayberry and husband, Walter of Arnold, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Virginia Bell of Mineral Point, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Edyth was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Jesse Mayfield, Sr., Arthur Gordon Bouse, one daughter, Edith Grace Cross, one son, Jesse Berlin Mayfield, Jr., two brothers, Earl Bell, William Bell, one sister, Maude Smith, two grandchildren, Larry Mayfield, Robert Mayfield, one great grandson, Shane Mayfield, two sons-in-law, Gene Cross, Danny Warren, one sister-in-law, Hattie Bell, one brother-in-law, Overton Smith.

Edyth or Pearl as she was known by family and friends was a very active member of the Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church, Goodland, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and gardening. Edyth loved to visit with family and friends. She also enjoyed canning, quilting and sewing. Edyth will be very deeply missed by the many lives she has touched.

Visitation was held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri and Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church, Goodland, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church, Goodland, Missouri with Elder Garry Mathes officiating. Honoring Edyth by serving as pallbearers were: Danny Warren, Philip Kwan, Andy Skiles, Coy Kwan, Skip Cross, Lance Mayfield, Mark Mayfield and Mark Bendler.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Goodland, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
