Wilma Lois Bowles of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, February 27, 1926 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri a daughter of the late, Odis Daniel and Georgia (Freeman) Spradling. Wilma departed this life on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-one years, six months and sixteen days.
Wilma was united in marriage to Ivan Bowles on June 24, 1978 in Ironton, Missouri.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Ivan Bowles of Potosi, Missouri; five stepdaughters, Debbie Lewis and husband, Eddie of Mineral Point, Missouri, Donna Henry and husband, Ed of Mineral Point, Missouri, Linda Smith of Potosi, Missouri, Michelle Freidt and husband, Rick of Potosi, Missouri, Angie Schutz and husband, Travis of Potosi, Missouri; one stepson, Dennis Bowles of Potosi, Missouri; two brothers, Gerald Spradling and wife, Sherry of Bland, Missouri, Odis Spradling and wife, Verna of All City, Alabama; thirteen step grandchildren, ten step great grandchildren, Aunt, Edna Sauer of Salem, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents Wilma was preceded in death by one step great grandchild, Tanis Smith and one step daughter-in-law, Susie Bowles.
Wilma enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching and feeding the birds. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, September 14, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Bob Thurman officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Eddie Lewis, Jr., Marshall Lewis, Jesse Lewis, Gary Reed, Jared Smith and Kurt Compton.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
