Billy Joe Boyer

Billy Joe Boyer of Potosi, MO was born October 19, 1956 in Bonne Terre, MO a son to the late Samuel Boyer and Lucy (Pashia) Boyer. Billy Joe departed this life Tuesday October 15, 2019 having reached the age of 62 years, 11 months and 26 days.
On January 22, 1981 Billy Joe was united in marriage to Robin Nicholson and they shared 38 memorable years together.
Billy Joe is survived by his loving wife, Robin; one son, Scott Bailey and wife Diana of St. Louis, MO; five sisters: Benita Coleman of Desoto, MO, Becky Boyer of Potosi, MO, Geri Pratt and husband Bill of Newport AR, Carol Ballard of Cadet, MO, Kathie Belfield-Boyer of St. Louis, MO; three brothers: Kenny Boyer and wife Pat of Potosi, MO, Tom “Yogi” Boyer and wife Charlotte of Farmington, MO, Richard “ Chopper” Boyer and wife Barb of Cadet, MO ; In-laws, Sherrie Cresswell of Potosi, MO, Danny Boyer of Potosi, MO, Tim White of Potosi, MO; one granddaughter, Ava Bailey of St. Louis; niece and nephews: Adam (Ashley) Boyer of Festus, MO, Larry Cresswell of St. Louis, MO, Kim White of Potosi, MO and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Billy Joe was preceded in death by three sisters: Anna Lea Johnson, Judy Boyer, Norma Jean Boyer; one brother, Donald Boyer; mother and father in law, Dale and Juanita Nicholson; sisters and brother in-law: Tammy Boyer, Lisa White, Jim Cresswell and his loving dog Carbo.
Billy Joe was a pillar of the community. He greeted every one with a warm and welcoming smile. He worked in car sales all his life and if you bought a car from Billy Joe, he made you feel not like a customer but a very close friend. His love of cars also extended into a hobby. He was a member of the Chevy Classic Club and proud owner of a 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air, nicknamed The Mickey Mouse Machine. He was very active with the Potosi Elks Lodge 2218, helping raise thousands of dollars for Christmas Charity Program along with their college scholarships for area students. He was a fan of Cardinal baseball and kept up with the team throughout the season. Billy Joe had a strong love not only for his family, but for his community. He always made sure everyone was taken care of. His love, kindness, generosity and sense of adventure will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
