Evelyn Boyer of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, March 13, 1923 in Cadet, Missouri a daughter of the late, Dora J. (Hoffmeister) and Edward C. Pratt. Evelyn departed this life on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at NHC Healthcare Desloge, Missouri having reached the age of ninety years, one month and fifteen days.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Howard Lucian Boyer on July 22, 1944 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri.
Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Judy Booker and husband, Dennis of Potosi, Missouri, Steven D. Boyer and wife, Peggy of Columbia, Tennessee, Mark G. Boyer, Sr. and wife, Lisa of Bonne Terre, Missouri; special grandson, Mark Gregory Boyer, Jr. and wife, Christa of Newborn, Tennessee; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Boyer, two sons, Howard L. Boyer, Jr., Ronald J. Boyer, one sister, Anna Pratt and one brother, Edwin Pratt.
Evelyn was a longtime member of the St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the Sayers Senior Center, square dancing, sewing and playing cards. Evelyn was well know for being a very good cook and will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation was held Monday, March 4, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri with Monsignor James Hanson officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: James D. Robart, Jr., Steven Brent Boyer, Brad Boyer, Mark Gregory Boyer, Jr., T.J. West and Ryan West.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
