GLENNON JOHN BOYER OF OLD MINES, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT OLD MINES, MISSOURI ON DECEMBER 21, 1925. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE ISADORE FRANCIS "ZEDOR" AND MARY ELISSA (SCHUTTE) BOYER. GLEN DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HIS HOME IN CADET, MISSOURI ON OCTOBER 5, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SEVENTY SIX YEARS, TEN MONTHS AND FIFTEEN DAYS.
GLEN WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MYRNA HIGGINS ON JANUARY 1, 1945 IN POTOSI, MISSOURI.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, THREE DAUGHTERS, EYVONNE EMILY AND HUSBAND RONNIE OF MINERAL POINT, LYNNE SCHRUM AND HUSBAND TIM OF OLD MINES AND MELISSA PORTELL AND HUSBAND D.J. OF OLD MINES, SEVEN SONS, LARRY BOYER AND WIFE BRENDA OF MINERAL POINT, GLEN R. BOYER AND WIFE JUDY OF OLD MINES, ROGER BOYER AND WIFE ANITA OF OLD MINES, TIMOTHY BOYER AND WIFE TERESA OF RICHWOODS, MICHAEL BOYER AND WIFE KENDRA OF PARK HILLS, SCOTT BOYER AND WIFE CHRISTY OF FREDERICKTOWN AND JASON BOYER AND WIFE DINA OF OLD MINES, THREE SISTERS, NETTIE HEIFNER OF POTOSI, MYRTLE RUSSELL OF ST. LOUIS AND DOROTHY CHARBONEAU, THREE BROTHERS, HAROLD BOYER AND WIFE ALCIE OF OLD MINES, TWIN BROTHER, LEONARD BOYER AND WIFE GOLDIE OF OLD MINES AND ORVILLE BOYER OF UNION, TWENTY FOUR GRANDCHILDREN AND FOURTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY TWO SONS, DONALD AND CHUCK BOYER, TWO SISTERS, MARY HELEN SAUNDERS AND BLANCHE HEIFNER AND ONE GREAT GRANDSON, NICHOLAS EYE.
GLEN WAS A LIFE TIME MEMBER OF THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH IN OLD MINES. HE WAS BLESSED WITH THE ABILITY OF BEING ABLE TO PLAY MANY INSTRUMENTS, INCLUDING THE GUITAR, MANDOLIN, BANJO, FRENCH HARP AND ESPECIALLY HIS FIDDLE. MANY PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER HIS MUSICAL GIFTS AT CHURCH PICNICS, WHERE HE WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO ENTERTAIN. GLEN APPRECIATED LIFE TO THE FULLEST AND LOVED TO JOKE AROUND WITH HIS CHILDREN. HE ENJOYED FISHING, PITCHING HORSESHOES AND DANCING AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY. GLEN SPENT MANY RELAXING HOURS PLAYING ALL TYPES OF CARD GAMES, ESPECIALLY EUCHRE TOURNAMENTS. HIS LOVE FOR CARPENTRY WORK EXTENDED INTO HIS RETIREMENT YEARS, BUILDING BIRD HOUSES, DOG HOUSES AND BIRD FEEDERS. GLEN WILL BE LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO WERE PRIVILEGED TO KNOW HIM, FOR TRULY LEAVING THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2002 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2002 FROM 8:30 A.M. TO 10:30 A.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI. A PRAYER SERVICE WAS HELD SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2002 AT 7:00 P.M. WITH DEACON STEVE POLITTE, AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL. SONGS PLAYED FOR THE SERVICE WERE: CHURCH IN THE WILDWOOD AND DADDY'S HANDS.
A FUNERAL MASS WAS CELEBRATED MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2002 AT 11:00 A.M. AT THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH, OLD MINES, MISSOURI WITH FATHER TED PIEPER CELEBRATING. MUSIC WAS PROVIDED BY THE CHURCH CHOIR. BURIAL WAS IN THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH CEMETERY, OLD MINES, MISSOURI. HONORING THEIR FATHER WITH A SPECIAL GIFT WERE HIS SONS SERVING AS HIS PALLBEARERS, LARRY BOYER, GLEN R. BOYER, ROGER BOYER, TIMOTHY BOYER, MICHAEL BOYER, SCOTT BOYER AND JASON BOYER. SERVICES WERE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
