Harold Boyer of Cadet, Missouri was born on Wednesday, May 30, 1923 in Old Mines, Missouri a son of the late, Mary Eleesie (Schutte) Boyer and Zedor Francis Boyer. Harold departed this life on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-six years, six months and twenty-one days.

Harold was united in marriage to Alcie Virginia Shepard on February 16, 1946 in Old Mines, Missouri.

Harold is survived by three daughters, Shirley Miller of Cadet, Missouri, Linda Maria Richards and husband, Rusty of Cadet, Missouri, Sandra Jean Mocabee and husband, Michael of Hillsboro, Missouri; two sons, Daniel Joseph Boyer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Anthony “Tony” Boyer of Cadet, Missouri; one brother, Leonard Boyer and wife, Goldie of Cadet, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Myrna Boyer of Cadet, Missouri; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alcie, who passed away November 21, 2002, one daughter, Patricia Sue Boyer, one son, Gary Wayne Boyer, one grandson, Aaron Raymond Boyer, five sisters, Nettie Heifner, Dorothy Charboneau, Myrtle Russell, Mary Ellen Saunders, Blanche Heifner, two brothers, Glen Boyer and Orville Boyer, one son-in-law, Lawrence Miller.

Harold was a longtime parishioner of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri and attended Mass faithfully. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing at church and at nursing homes. Harold appeared in the movie “The Singing Cowboy” and opened shows at the Grand Ole Opry on several occasions. He loved expressing his memories and hopes in music and had recorded several country music songs. Harold was well known to many people as President of the “Poo Poo Knockers Club”, which derived from the nickname he lovingly gave to many young children.

Visitation was held Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Miens, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Honoring Harold’s memory and legacy, serving as Pallbearers were Kyle Oshia, Dale Mocabee, Geromy Miller, Dillion Miller, Dereck Boyer and Rusty Boyer.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
