John Boyer

   John “Poodle” Boyer of Potosi, Missouri was born on August 11, 1934 in Old Mines, Missouri a son of the late, Frances Mary (Juliette) Boyer and Edgar Louis Boyer.  John departed this life on February 5, 2013 having reached the age of seventy-eight years, six months and twenty-five days. John was united in marriage to Imelda Marie “Millie” Coleman on October 29, 1955 in Old Mines, Missouri.

   John “Poodle” is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Imelda “Millie” Boyer, two brothers, Richard Boyer and Vincent Boyer.

   John worked for the Postal Service for many years and was also self-employed as a mechanic having a shop at his home.  “Poodle” was honorably discharged from the United States Army.  He enjoyed listening to ballgames and spending time outdoors.  John attended St. Joachim Catholic Church and also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Sayers Senior Center.  He will be forever missed by all.

   A Memorial Mass was held Monday, February 11, 2013 at 9:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
