Leon Joseph Boyer of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Friday, December 10, 1954 in Richwoods, Missouri and departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2014 having reached the age of fifty-nine years, three months and three days.
Leon is survived by one son, Francis Boyer and wife, Kelsey of Mineral Point, Missouri; stepson, Isaac Dobbs of Park Hills, Missouri; mother, Mary Monica (DeClue) Boyer of Mineral Point, Missouri; three sisters, Rita Warden and husband, Bernard, Sr. of Mineral Point, Missouri; Lena Courtois of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Sheila Gaylord and husband, Kenny of Mineral Point, Missouri; brother, Gerald “Jerry” Boyer and Vanessa of Park Hills, Missouri; stepbrother, Arthur Boyer of Mineral Point, Missouri; grandchildren: Karlee Harmon, Bailey Boyer, Amber Dobbs, Anthony Dobbs, Alyssa Dobbs, Michael Dobbs and Matthew Dobbs; also surviving are other relatives and friends. Leon was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Boyer, two sisters, Mary Jo “Cherokee” Boyer, Brenda Boyer and one brother, Dennis Boyer.
Leon enjoyed building birdhouses and other woodcrafts. He loved hunting, fishing and planting a vegetable garden. Leon will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, March 17, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Bruce Nipper officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: James Courtois, Alex Courtois, Nick Courtois, Trevor Huskey, Wesley Hamby and Isaac Dobbs.
