MARY LUCILLE CLARK OF IRONDALE, MISSOURI, WAS BORN SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1917, IN DESOTO, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE SOLOMON SIDNEY AND ETHEL (BOYER) DENNY. MRS. CLARK DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ON FEBRUARY 12, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-ONE YEARS, ELEVEN MONTHS AND FIFTEEN DAYS.
LUCILLE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO KENNETH "JOE" CLARK ON APRIL 1, 1947, IN DESOTO, MISSOURI, AND TO THIS UNION THREE CHILDREN WERE BORN.
LUCILLE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, K.G. JOE CLARK OF IRONDALE, ONE DAUGHTER, RHONDA KAY THURMAN AND HUSBAND JIM OF GALENA, ILLINOIS, TWO SONS, CARL FREDERICK CLARK AND WIFE KATHY OF FESTUS, GERALD "JERRY" LYN CLARK AND WIFE JANICE OF CASEY, ILLINOIS, TEN GRANDCHILDREN, EIGHT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, A NEPHEW, ANTHONY "TONY FRANKLIN HERGET AND WIFE THEA OF HIGH RIDGE AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SISTER, ROSE ANNA HERGET AND ONE NEPHEW.
LUCILLE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE IRONDALE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, WHERE SHE WAS ACTIVE IN ITS' MANY ACTIVITIES AND TAUGHT SUNDAY SCHOOL. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE WOMEN'S MISSIONARY U., THE P.T.A. AND THE IRONDALE ORDER OF EASTERN STAR, WHERE SHE WAS A PAST MATRON.
LUCILLE ENJOYED COLLECTING DOLLS AND ANGELS OF ALL TYPES, SHE ALWAYS MADE TIME TO SPEND GOING TO YARD SALES AND LOOKING FOR ANTIQUES.
LUCILLE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, SHE ALWAYS CHERISHED THE TIME SHE COULD SPEND WITH THE GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND ALL CHILDREN, HER LOVE FOR THEM GAVE HER THE TITLE OF NANNY. A TITLE SHE WAS PROUD TO HAVE.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 1999, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN IRONDALE.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 1999, AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE IRONDALE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH WITH REVEREND BRUCE TORRENCE OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN BIG RIVER CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, IRONDALE.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE TYSON WILKINS, KEVIN BARNES, GARY HERGET, MIKE HERGET, KIT CLARK AND ANTHONY THURMAN.
