MARY ROSE BOYER
MARY ROSE BOYER OF BLACKWELL, MISSOURI, WAS BORN JULY 15, 1907, IN RACOLA, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN THEODORE "TOAD" AND MARY ELLEN (BOYER) VILLMER. MARY DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ON MARCH 20, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY-ONE YEARS, EIGHT MONTHS AND FIVE DAYS.
MARY WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE LUCIAN THOMAS BOYER ON FEBRUARY 9, 1932, IN OLD MINES, MISSOURI.
MARY IS SURVIVED BY TWO SONS, JOHN BOYER AND WIFE CAROL OF ROSWELL, GEORGIA, PAUL BOYER AND WIFE GLENDA OF LIBERTY CENTER, INDIANA, THREE DAUGHTERS, ROSE ANN BOURBON AND HUSBAND GEORGE OF BLACKWELL, HELEN DIX AND HUSBAND RICHARD OF BARNHART, MARY JANE JORDAN AND HUSBAND LARRY OF DESOTO, THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN FOUR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, ONE SISTER, HELEN CARTER OF POTOSI AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AN SPOUSE SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE DAUGHTER, ELIZABETH RITA BOYER, TWO SONS, ANTHONY THOMAS BOYER AND THOMAS GERALD BOYER, ONE INFANT GRANDSON, TWO BROTHERS, MAX AND TONY VILLMER.
MARY ROSE KNOWN BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS AUNT ROSIE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH AND A DEDICATED VOLUNTEER WITH THE RURAL PARISH WORKERS CHRIST THE KING ORGANIZATION. AUNT ROSIE LOVED TO TAKE TIME AND PLAY EUCHRE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, VISITING WITH HER FRIENDS WAS ALWAYS A HIGHLIGHT IN HER DAY, AUNT ROSIE NEVER MET A STRANGER.
VISITATION WAS HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 23, 1999, FROM 4:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
A FUNERAL MASS WAS CELEBRATED WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 1999, AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH FATHER TED PIEPER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN ST. JOACHIM CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, JOHN CARTER, RAY CARTER, BOB VILLMER, PHILLIP COLEMAN, LARRY JORDAN AND JEFF OSHIA. HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE, MIKE OSHIA, KYLE OSHIA AND AUSTIN BOYER.
