Thelma Boyer of Old Mines, Missouri was born on Friday, April 20, 1928 in Racola City, Missouri a daughter of the late, Margaret Mary (Osia) Boyer and Ernest Joseph Boyer. Thelma departed this life on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the St. John’s Hospital, Washington, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-one years, four months and twenty-three days.

Thelma was united in marriage to Thomas A. Boyer on November 25, 1947 in Old Mines, Missouri.

Thelma is survived by one son, Paul Gregory Boyer and wife, Mary of Leslie, Missouri; one daughter, Jennifer Charboneau and husband, James of St. Clair, Missouri; one sister, Theresa Pinson and husband, Martin (who died September 14, 2009) of DeSoto, Missouri; four grandchildren, Travis Charboneau and wife, Milissa of Smithville, Missouri, Joshua Boyer and friend, Stacy of Ellisville, Missouri, Allison Juergens and husband, Patrick of Sullivan, Missouri, Jessica Kiefer and husband, Matthew of St. Peters, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, Austin, Cody, Calvin, Brendan, Sydney, Hudson and Scout. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Boyer, one sister, Verna Boyer, two great grandchildren, Jack and Hayden.

Thelma was a parishioner of the St. Joachim Catholic Church were she served as a Eucharistic Minister for several years. She enjoyed going to Branson to see all the shows. Thelma was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Clair, Missouri and a former member of the Red Hat Society. After her retirement in St. Louis, Thelma worked at Wal-Mart in Union, Missouri and did the demos and gave away samples at the Wal-Mart in Potosi, Missouri. Thelma enjoyed cleaning, some would say she was a perfectionist because everything was in its place. Most of all Thelma loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who will all remember her for the love she shared.

Visitation was held Monday, September 14, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Honoring Thelma by serving as pallbearers were: Travis Charboneau, Joshua Boyer, Patrick Juergens, Matt Kiefer, Tom DeGonia, Bernard Boyer, Joey Boyer, Ronnie Boyer and David Pinson.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
